Certainly,PPP(Paid per post )ads is more powerful then PPC ads(Paid per click). And promoting your own ads is more powerful then letting out the ads space.
Study show that more and more online advertisers are paying on a per-click basis, but who is clicking on those ads and how much are they worth? A study put out yesterday by comScore, Starcom Media, and Tacoda suggests that half of all clicks on display ads (as opposed to clicks on paid search links) are generated by only 6 percent of Web surfers.
And these are not a particularly desirable bunch. The average heavy clicker is 25 to 44 years old, earns less than $40,000 a year, spends a lot of time online but not a lot of money online, and likes to frequent auctions, gambling sites and job boards. Sounds like a lot of these heavy clickers are out of work and have nothing to do. But who did you think clicked on those ads anyway?
Now, that's what the Google Adsense publishers need.Right ! Having more click mean more money flowing in.And it seem like not a good news to AdWords advertisers.
Is that what you think?
The publishers,
Having too many this kind of click will get your Google Adsense account banned.
If your blog has gain very good reputation and has fair amounts of outstanding contents .Attracting thousand of quality visitors where most of them willing to buy from your links. You better thinking how to setup your own affiliate links instead of giving out those clicks. In fact,Most problogger is doing that.
The advertisers
The advertisers who willing to spend money on AdWords already calculate and prepare to spend on it.However,Consider the fact that people who click on the ads has some kind of awareness that "someone going to sell me something ".You're not only needed a good product to sell but have good contents, good points that convicts these 6 percent of Web surfers.who spends a lot of time online but not a lot of money online.
It's up to the advertisers on how well the landing page is setting up . You only have few second before your pay visitors go away.
Certainly,PPP(Paid per post )ads is more powerful then PPC(Paid per click).
For me,I think the study is truth .Perhaps, I am one of them.
